This was a pleasant surprise that was a lot closer to us than we’d thought. Billing itself as a plant-based pub, Beelman’s had a fun approach to pub food.

We started with their Crispy Garbanzo Beans, toasted garbs tossed with shichimi togarashi and gochujang spice. These were rather addictive and we enjoyed them.

Sweetie tried the Katsu Everdeen Bowl, an assortment of rice, a sunflower katsu cutlet, their katsu sauce, slaw and scallions. This made for a nice plate and Sweetie enjoyed it. I had a sort of similar thing, but as a sandwich, that same sunflower seed cutlet on a Brioche Sesame bun with Sriracha Aioli, greens, slaw and pickles.

Beelman’s had fun takes on pub food in a pubby setting where we sat on the street. It felt normal and not just plant-based. I’m liking this version of things.
