I want to say that this seemed like the first time I’ve had a vegan ramen that actually had the unctuousness that pork ramen typically has. The spicy ramen at this totally vegan counter only spot in downtown LA’s Grand Central Market was an absolute delight.
I loved the broth. I loved the chewy noodles. I loved that the whole menu was vegan and I didn’t have to second guess which items I could have and which ones I couldn’t have. I got there just before a lunch rush and managed to snag a counter seat. As I am want to do, I tried too much and also had an order of their Banh Mi poutine – fries covered with hoisin gravy, pickled veggies, sriracha, vegan cheese, jalapeños and cilantro. Junk food, but vegan!
I loved the food I had here and can’t wait to go back and give some of their other menu items a try. This spot is definitely going in the rotation.
Ramen Hood is 100% vegan and as such has a VegScore of 100.
